Gameday crew prepares for boring basketball, Saddle Ridge
ESPN's Gameday will be in Louisville this weekend, and the crew says that they are excited about the night-life, but a little worried about the game.
"I know we'll have a blast on Friday night," lead analyst Jay Bilas said. "I've heard nothing but good things about the bar scene here. There's nothing I love more than crowded, expensive bars that play nothing but country music at a deafening volume. I've already talked Hubert (Davis) into buying a cowboy hat! Digger (Phelps) said it looked 'gay,' but he's been in a mood ever since I switched his highlighter after he had already matched it with his tie."
Digger's negativity wasn't completely reserved for Hubert Davis' wardrobe selection, as he spoke about his outlook on the Louisville game against Georgetown, which will be played Saturday night in Freedom Hall.
"I am certainly not excited about covering this game," Phelps said. "If either team reaches 60, I'll be shocked."
Phelps was obviously referring to Georgetown's snail-like pace and style of play, but he also mentioned Louisville's propensity to shoot ill-advised threes.
"Something has got to give in this game," Phelps said. "Either way, we're going to see a lot of bad shots."
Bilas isn't as worried.
"I'm hoping that I'll still be a little drunk by game time. I hope the game is slow and quiet."
