Huggins' post-game pep talks failing to connect with white players

West Virginia coach Bob Huggins disclosed yesterday that he doesn't think his post-game pep talks are resonating with the Mountaineers' white players.

After West Virginia fell 63-54 to Louisville two weeks ago, Huggins said he told his team, "Come on, y'all, why can't we go out dere and get this s*** done? If ya'll keep playing like this, I'm gonna strip da 22's off yo' rides, b****es. Play dat game I taught ya'll in practice damnit. Not dis bulls*** ya'll keep throwin' up at da rim. We gotta get this s*** done, ya heerre me?"

Huggins said the white players responded by looking in disbelief while opening up a well-used textbook. For the first time in Huggins' career, he is forced to dealing with more than one white player on a single team. Although Huggins agrees his graduation rate will likely increase three-fold after this season, he said he's still trying to adjust to the language barrier.

"It's going to take time, but there's always that transition period with a new coach," said Huggins, who has invited Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie to his new AA group. "John (Beilein) left me a mess, but trust me, I'm going to get this place cleaned up. Fo' sho'. "
