McNamee accused of injecting UK players with large doses of SUCK

Brian McNamee, who recently sat before a panel of senators discussing his involvement with Roger Clemens and his alleged steroid use, was accused recently of "juicing" the UK men's basketball team with SUCK, or Sucrose United Concoction of Potassium (K).

McNamee, who allegedly was seen milling around the UK team hotel, says that he was only doing what Coach Billy Gillispie had asked.

"He called me late Monday and asked if I could be in Nashville," McNamee said in a written statement. "I flew down, did some injections, and went to D.C."

SUCK, as it is often called, carries side-effects of anxiousness, nervousness, tension, whatever the opposite of stick-to-itiveness is, and fear. All of which were on display Tuesday night, when UK was humiliated by Vanderbilt, 93-52.

When used properly, SUCK is designed to increase muscle mass and expedite healing processes.

"We thought we needed an extra boost," Gillispie said. "We needed Jodie (Meeks) back, and we wanted to beef Perry (Stevenson) up for that fat Australian guy. I guess we got burned."

What this will do to future performances remains to be seen. The Cats will travel to Baton Rouge on Saturday to play LSU.

"I don't think SUCK will get the better of us twice in a row," Gillispie said. "Mark Coury made a lay-up in practice yesterday. That's a pretty good sign."
